Played first time yesterday. The only reason not 5 star is a few minor details that have nothing to do with quality of the course. If you love bunkers this course has them! 80 to be exact. Some as big as dry lake beds. Strategically placed to wreck your confidence of hitting these nice wide fairways. Tee shot, approach shots, second shot on par 5’s? Yes all are in danger of hitting a bunker. A fair amount of water also but not terribly threatening. Greens are fast but not PGA tour fast.
Knocked off a star because we encountered a rude marshall but the course was great for easy round. Not too difficult, and the fairways were wide. And the price was affordable

Formerly TPC Cancun, this course now called El Tinto unfortunately feels like a course that “was” instead of a course that “is”.
Excellent layout but too many greens bunkers or rough not well kept.
The scenery is immaculate and any course where there is no true other fairways to hit into is going to be difficult for the mid-high handicapper golfer that occasionally sprays.
Being positive, playing with no 1 in sight gives ample time for practice on course before you get to your #1 course
