Tecolote is a good local course. It’s helped me figure out what I need to be work on and what I’m doing okay with.

This is by far the worst golf course I’ve ever played on (keep in mind I’ve only played on a dozen courses). Most of the “fairways” are dried, dusty ruins. The “sand traps” are brown patches of 1 in deep dirt, followed by bedrock. On one of the par 3’s (only 4 par 4’s but since that’s this courses staple, you can’t really fault that) I dropped a shot directly into the bunker, which then bounced out as if I had hit a cart path and then rolled down the dry dirt into a creek bed. All but 2 of the 18 holes featured on this course are narrow and contain very steep slopes from one side to the other. As other reviewers have mentioned, you can find yourself hitting a well placed shot to the right side of the “fairway”, only to have the ball roll all the way to the left side and out of bounds due to poor soil hydration and lack of vegetation.
I’ve never even reviewed a golf course before because every other course I’ve played on has left me with an overall positive experience. Will not return

Pretty awful course overall. The rough is extremely overgrown and the fairways are ultra narrow and brown, so even if you hit fairway you’re likely to roll into the rough and lose a ball. I wouldn’t play here again, really unforgiving course.
