Great municipal golf course and definitely a “hidden gem” in San Francisco. Friendly staff, friendly golfers. Course is in pretty good shape now—so don’t let older reviews from years back share you away. The course is DIFFICULT though. It’s a hilly, parkland style. If you aren’t an accurate golfer, you’ll spend a lot of time in the trees. Also not very crowded. I showed up to play first tee on Saturday morning and by the time I left it still hadn’t really picked up. Good place to go if you want to avoid a big crowd.
