I’ve played Laguna about 6 times before this. It is always a tough course. The greens were fast, firm, and tough to read.
Overall this is a great bang for your buck course that both challenges your skills and rewards calculated risks.
Just book the tee time and enjoy.
Beautiful course, and the red tees definitely give you an edge—some holes play almost 100 yards shorter than the whites. A few bunkers are still under repair. Hole 15 really stands out: you’ve got to thread it past a bunch of trees and then clear a little pond. Super challenging, but fun.

This place isn’t too bad for a busy muni. Lovely design that makes for some fun shots. That being said, it is incredibly overpriced… borderline criminal. I paid $50 to walk 9 holes in the afternoon — I’m ashamed to even put that in writing. I feel like I just got fleeced in a fantasy football trade right before the playoffs began. Furthermore, the pace of play was poor. Please go play Monterey Pines for fantastic course conditions at a fair price instead.
