Newbie's delight, veterans fright.
For beginners, this course is just what the doctor ordered. It's wwwwiiiiddddeee open, has few trees, fewer hazards, and even fewer other golfers. For veteran amateurs, it's the same thing, and except for the fewer other golfers, it amounts to marks against the (what could have been a good) course.
I arrived in a Wednesday without a printout of an online, discounted tee time. Since the good intentioned starter/assistant pro didn't know how to look up, He let me tee off and the pro would take care of it at the turn, something he didn't have to do. It was a small gesture from what overall is a great staff. The clubhouse/pro shop is well-stocked, clean and inviting. Merchandise prices, however, rival those found in more affluent private clubs.
Other than the priceless value given by the staff through service
