Located in the town of Greenwich, CT that is packed with double digit country clubs and golf courses, Burning Tree (BTCC) has always been know as a decent track that without argument stood in the top half of the courses locally. Starting about 15+ years ago the club began a facelift of the physical plant from top to bottom, but more recently, in the last 5 years, engaged in a 2nd round of improvements bringing a clubhouse and course remodel each surging the club into a new realm. Used to be a tricky course with funky elements throughout that required an understanding of how to manage shots where the design gave members an unfair advantage knowing the quirks and penalizing guests in a +/-5 or more stroke differential. A top notch architect taking the lead on the remodel, those old parts that the old timers thought defined the course (ie. trees blocking greens, putts rolling with 2x more break than the read, etc.) little do they know as BTCC is now right up there in Greenwich’s top 3.
