Playing Forest Park for over twenty years, one statement still rings true now as it did then. "Hit it straight". Simple in theory, however many holes have unmarked OB areas that gobble up stray tee and approach shots, more trouble for righties than lefties. Longer hitters can steer longer irons off the tee for better angles to attack greens, avoid flag hunting unless your striping it.
Fairways get tight but can be hit with having a target picked out, away from trouble areas. Greens typically run quick, so try to be below the hole -- and being long on many greens is a troublesome up and down.
The Clubhouse isn't much in terms of their menu, they sell what you can buy at the ball game, but the beers are cold, Tv's are loud and seating is pleantiful.
