The green speed is really a 6 out of 5. Putting on glass, smooth greens.

One of the best and most fun public courses out there. Don’t sleep on The Downs. Greens are slow but true. Great course design. Make sure to get a tee time early for a faster round.

Montauk Downs is a gem of a course — fun and challenging with some truly beautiful holes. The coastal wind adds excitement to every shot, and the wildlife is part of the charm — deer and wild turkeys roam the fairways. Managed to snag a couple of birdies, too. A must-play if you’re out at the end of the world.

One of the best public’s in NY - scenic, majestic, well maintained, but at the same time, very challenging. I wouldn’t recommend this course for beginners.
