I don’t review courses often but after a few trips I’ve decided this place is challenging to the point of being unfair and would warn others to consider spending the costly greens fees elsewhere.
It’s a combination of extremely narrow especially in the landing areas off the tee, pretty long (ignore the total yardage because there are a lot of par 3), and the smallest greens in the area, and extremely penalizing. Most golf holes have a good miss, very few here do.

Everything was great and the course was in perfect shape, but the driving range was closed in the middle of the day. We were the last tee time 2:20 and we could not hit a few balls because scheduled mowing. How about mow after the last tee time.

If you know what to expect, this course is a great play. Very tight, and small greens but tons of personality and character.
A couple things to note before playing:
Get familiar with the ole Texas wedge … tons of good iron shots that were within 10-12 ft of the hole and were off the green. Greens are really small, but in great shape. Fringe/fairway was easy to putt through so it didn’t cause many issues
Second, plan for a ride home if you are staying in Mt. pleasant or Charleston. Uber / Lyft is easy to get there, but a little bit of a struggle to get back.
Loved the course, it was a memorable one for sure and the condition and scenery were one to remember
