They are still working on updating the course, but Shelby is the best bang for your buck when it comes to the public courses. Because it has a lot of hills and blind shots, people prefer to go to other courses, which makes this course not crowded, and the pace of play pretty fast. It is short standard course that is good for beginners and returning golfers to practice, and to get great endurance practice if you walk the course.

It was really slow piece of play too many groups back to back to back jammed everything up. Other than that it's challenging course with a lot of hills and the greens are very small and hilly but in good condition

Shelby is one of Nashville’s most interesting courses. Designed by Donald Ross (designer of Pinehurst No. 2), Shelby is carved into the extremely hilly East Nashville terrain. With no sand traps and few water hazards, one would think the course easy, but beware. The tiny elevated greens make for an extreme challenge. The course also has overseeded Bermuda rough that can cause lost balls after decent tee shots that just miss the fairway. Ultimately a memorable, albeit odd, golf course.

Nothing against this course just hate the design. So many hills it gets old shooting blindly into a hill and constantly playing on a slope. Not for me.

This course was standard priced. It has some challenging holes with large hills and valleys. I became a high fan after playing the back 9. Friends rented clubs at a fair price and the clubs was nice clubs.
