Probably the worst course I’ve ever played with respect to the course conditions. You couldn’t tell where the fairway ended, and the greens began. The staff was incredibly unfriendly. We were told we needed to return the golf carts by 7 PM yet they started pulling the pins at 6 PM and making comments about how they wanted to go home because it was going to start raining. On the 18th hole at 6:15 PM some of the staff were yelling at us from the cart return area to return our carts.

Solid city course with scoring opportunities for the average golfer. Good value but cash only with no ATM is a crazy.

Wort greens you ever see, not bad play time, a lot of room for error. Not a lot of trouble.

Bartholomew is great bang for your buck. But they start picking flags up and shoeing you off the course way too early. There is an old guy as the starter most of the time, and he's really cool. But the rest of the staff isn't very friendly at all, even rude. They started picking flags up about 4pm and took the 17th flag while we were about to chip to the green with 45 minutes of light left. 18 was gone when we got there. We just shot for the green. It's a city course with city workers. Go figure

Course was in great condition for time of year. A few spots on greens but mostly great. Great value for a walking non-resident rate.

Review of Joseph M. Bartholomew Golf Course
Playing at Joseph M. Bartholomew Golf Course was a unique experience given its historical significance. This course, crafted by Bartholomew, a trailblazing African American course designer, carries a rich legacy, even as the man himself was often restricted from playing on courses like this due to racial segregation. It’s a privilege to play on grounds with such historical depth.
The pro shop is well-maintained, and I had a pleasant experience with t
