This may have been the most fun round of golf I’ve ever played. The course was pretty challenging, but not unfairly so. Instead, every hole felt a unique challenge and that I could play here 50 times and still be learning things. So many courses are just hit your driver as hard as possible in a straight line off tee, then a random iron straight approach shot. Here there were interesting dog legs, elevation changes, and every hole felt totally unique. I would travel back to NM just to play here

This is a premium course that is worth the extra money.

Black mesa is the most gorgeous and stunning course in NM. Plenty of holes cut into canyons and against mesas that make for awesome scenery. A wide variety of holes including some blind tee shots and drivable holes. Some wider fairways and some narrow. A handful of tough tiered greens and complexes that challenge the short game. Course is in great shape right now, just a few patchy areas here and there but very good shape.

Course is in bad shape. Fairways are dry and brown.

Absolute gem.

Way too slow… quit after 5 hours and 15 holes! Go play Paako Ridge… sooo much better!

One of my favorite courses. Well worth the time and effort to get there.
