For the value less than a buck a hole walking you can’t find better golf. Late spring and fall time are probably the best times to play when the ground isn’t dry/hard as cement. Roughs are extremely forgiving, and you’d almost prefer a lie in them on some holes just because there’s substantially longer and softer grass. Can’t beat a course with jet noise overhead though!
A really great course for the value, and a great investment to become a member given the lack of things to do in Altus. A bonus that the Ft Sill golf course is also included in the membership.
Overall, the course is very dry and a lot of the grass is dead, so it’s hard to distinguish fw from rough. The greens are decently kept. The tee boxes could use some work and are a bit uneven.
I think it’s a fun course, it just might be a bit better if some rain came through the area.
