An interesting course, poorly maintained by Southend City Council. It could be a real gem for the Council, but they don’t seem to get it.

First time playing belfairs, really must install signage of where the next tee is on several holes, twice got lost heading in totally the wrong direction. Had nobody been about to ask it would have been impossible to find your way. Greens and bunkers could do with a little bit of attention. Course is full of dog walkers that just walk straight out in front when trying to take your shot. Few stick to the paths and strut about as if they own it. Other than that it's a nice course.

My local course and one run by the council. A mature, tree lined course that is also open to the public. The course itself is short, with a quirky layout but it's enjoyable to play. Frustrations are inconsistent levels of course maintenance, no rakes for the bunkers, and the occasionally wallys wandering across the fairways in no particular hurry. If you're not in a hurry though and can accept the course won't be in perfect condition, I highly recommend it. It is very keenly priced, and a nice day out
