I play here a lot. It's a course that looks more expensive than it is especially on the tree lined front 9, but don't look too closely or you'll see it's a little bit rough. The tee boxes are horrific. If you can find a flat spot to hit your spot from you're doing well. Fairways are fine, but the green conditions are really awful in places. Part of that is down to the fact that much of the front 9 becomes a bog in winter. It's like 18 holes @ glasto. Challenging course though which I still like.
High Elms was pretty muddy today. Couple of temps that we were not told about, but most of the actual greens that we played were fine. Tees were rather woolly and tired. This course is usually in good nick during the summer and I do enjoy playing it, however, it does not drain well and I had an inch of mud on my shoes by the end of the round.
