It’s a strange course but nice to play. The bunkers are dreadful and I’d agree with your buddies to play them as GUR. No sand and lots of stone to damage those precious clubs. Stunning scenery and good value for money I guess. Pace of play was very good. Couple of the greens aren’t in the best shape and the speed varied quite a bit.
ok course expensive for the state of the course. The greens are covered with players not repairing their pitch marks and the bunkers are like building sites.
For the cost of the round you would expect the course to be in much better condition

Course in great condition. Very difficult, sand and water surround almost every green, fairway bunkers in play on most holes too.
Longest tees on Los Olivos 5900 yds, it hasn't rain in a month but the bunkers are full of water on some holes, greens crappy but fast. Nice views but not worth a trip. Also a lot of people playing here that have no golf manners, would not let a single play through.

The green fees are pretty pricey, but overall, it’s worth it. Despite the recommendations, it’s not too tough to play, even for high handicappers.
