We noticed something pretty cool the other day: You awesome people have rated over one million courses in the app! We were thrilled to find such a goldmine of data that we decided to start a new series of lists (because who doesn't love lists) to share all of these great stats around the best and worst courses to play across categories like Green Speed, Pace of Play, Difficulty, Course Condition and more – all according to our users! To start things off we've compiled the Top 20 Fastest Green Speeds in the state of New York, where a large amount of you are located. 1. Quaker Ridge Golf Club (Scarsdale)

Quaker Ridge Golf Club is a private course located in Sacrsdale, New York. The course was completed in 1918 and has remained relatively unchanged since its construction, aside from minor repairs and bunker restorations. In 2008, Golf Digest rated Quaker Ridge the 30th best course in the United States. The course was also ranked 64th in the world in 2007 by Golf Magazine. Known for its narrow fairways and fast greens, Quaker Ridge is an absolute joy to play!

2. Hampton Hills Golf and Country Club (Northhampton)

Built in 1965 by Francis J. Duane, the course at Hampton Hills reflects an inherent respect for the natural beauty of the East End of Long Island. Hampton Hills, located at the highest elevation in the Town of Southampton, boasts incredibly scenic vistas. The course is known for it's challenging elevation changes, serene setting and a terrain so unique that members say playing on it is never the same twice.

3. Elmira Country Club (Elmira)

Noted for its spectacular beauty and uniquely challenging design, the 18-hole course is top rated among the very finest in the region. Opened in 1987, the course features 6,692 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72.

4. Engineers Country Club (Rosylyn Harbor)

The 210-acre course in Roslyn Harbor, New York was designed by English architect and golf professional Herbert Strong. Publications from the early days of the club described it as “a bag of tricks,” but the course was soon recognized as one of the finest in the country. The course continues to be regarded as one of the most challenging and exciting courses in the area. Members enjoy playing on this challenging and historic golf course due to unique features such as sloping undulating greens and the boldest, largest putting surfaces on Long Island.

5. Nassau Country Club (Glen Cove)

Built in 1896, the course has been revised several times over the past 123 years. In 2012, the Fazio Design Group rebuilt the green complexes, giving Nassau some of the finest green surfaces in the country. It is rare at Nassau to hit a good shot and end up with a bad result, something common on many modern courses. Nassau is a welcome challenge for golfers of all levels.

1. McConnellsville In the foothills of the Adirondacks lies a very picturesque course. Opened in 1941, the 18-hole "McConnellsville" course at the McConnellsville Golf Club facility in McConnellsville, New York features 6,317 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. McConnellsville is a very nice course in a beautiful setting. With mulitple difficult holes, the course presents a good challenge.

2. Great Rock Golf Club Opened in 2001, Great Rock Golf Club is one of the newer golf clubs in Long Island but it feels much older thanks to its scenic landscape of rolling green hills covered with mature forests. The mountainous landscape provides plenty of elevation changes that make it difficult to find a flat lie. At 6,254 yards, the course is short but it is still a challenging round with narrow, tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy.

3. Highland Park Golf Club Established in 1925, Highland Park Golf Club remains one of the finest, most challenging golf courses in Central New York. Designed by Geoffrey S. Cornish, the 18-hole "Highland Park" course at the Highland Park Golf Club facility in Auburn, New York features 6,401 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71.

4. Wiltwyck Golf Club Opening its course to the public for the first time since they were founded in 1933, Wiltwyck is the premier family-oriented semi-private club in the mid-Hudson Valley. Wiltwyck’s championship golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., is widely recognized as the best example of modern championship golf architecture within 60 miles of it’s home in Kingston, New York.

5. Turning Stone Shenendoah, Turning Stone’s original eighteen, has been rejuvenated after a 2016 rerouting and renovation project that saw the creation of seven new holes. Designer Rick Smith came back to do the recent work on this playing field that alternates between wide-open spaces, wetlands areas, and parkland areas sheltered by woodlands. Shenendoah, which hosted the 2006 PGA Professional Championship, is Turning Stone’s most heavily played eighteen. Like the resort’s other courses, it is free of course-side housing and certified to Audubon International standards.

6. The Vineyards Golf Club Loctaed in Riverhead, New York, The Vineyards’ strategy and playability puts a premium on accuracy and shot making. The raised greens are well guarded and subtly undulating. 7. West Point Golf Course The West Point Golf Course is an 18-hole challenge on a mountain layout, with well maintained terrain normally seen only at private clubs or high-end courses. Don't let the 6,004 yard length fool you, this Robert Trent Jones design course is a great challenge for all levels of golf. Upon playing, one takes a walk through history at the West Point Golf Course, starting with Hole #1 the tee marker reflects upon the American Revolution finishing with #17 and #18 reflecting upon Iraq and Afghanistan.

9. The Golf Club at Middle Bay The Golf Club at Middle Bay is located on Long Island's south shore overlooking the barrier islands of Jones Beach, Point Lookout, and Lido Beach. Nearly every hole looks out across water. Though the golf course is just an hour outside of New York City, you'll feel as though you've been whisked off to an out-of-town resort. The layout has a challenging design that will test your accuracy with tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. Wind will also be a factor on this golf course. 10. Mark Twain Golf Course The 18-hole "Mark Twain" course at the Mark Twain Golf Course facility in Elmira Heights, New York features 6,829 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Mark Twain Golf Course is the signature golf destination in the Twin Tiers. The course was designed by famous golf designer Donald Ross, known for such project as Pinehurst No.2, Seminole Golf Club, and Oak Hill. 11. The Links at Union Vale The Links at Union Vale is a premier Hudson Valley golf course, easily accessible to golfers in nearby Connecticut, New Jersey and New York City. This 18-hole championship public course, designed by architects Stephen Kay and Doug Smith, lets the shape of the land influence the shape of the holes. 13. Chautauqua Golf Club From the first round of golf, played on July 18, 1914, the Chautauqua Golf Club has carved a rich and exciting history. Xen Hassenplug, who also worked on both the Pittsburgh Field Club and Augusta National Golf Club, designed the scenic Hill Course. This layout features a commanding view of both Chautauqua Lake and the rolling hills of the surrounding countryside. It also features tree-lined fairways, frequent dog legs and small but gently sloped greens.

From the longest tees it presents 6,704 yards of golf for a par of 71. The course was designed by Ferdinand Garbin, and opened in 1996. Erie Village is a daily fee golf course with a 'Open to Public' guest policy. With water in play on mnay holes and a challenging layout, The Links at Erie Village is excellent course.

Saratoga National Golf Club Ranked one of the nation's top public courses year after year by Golf Digest and Golfweek magazines, Saratoga National is open seven days a week without restrictions on times of play or number of guests. The Roger Rulewich-designed course takes full advantage of the property's natural beauty and incorporates five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels. This course has been servicing golfers since 2001 and is well known. Its popularity is not without good reasoning, Saratgoa Natoional is a beautiful golf course. Every blade of grass is in perfect condition. The staff is excellent and the course is challenging and fair.
