Fantasy Golf on DraftKings - St. Jude Classic

Lock of the week:

Francesco Molinari $10,500 - We’ve seen a mixed bag of winners here at TPC Southwind as there have been both accuracy guys and bombers that have prevailed to win this championship. However, Molinari can win on either for the results he has been producing lately. He’s consistently played well all year making 10/11 cuts with three T10s. He’s one of the top players in the field this week in SG: Off the Tee, SG: Approach, Par 4 Scoring, and Birdie or Better %. We love him in cash or GPP contests this week.

Value Plays:

Kyle Stanley $8,400 - Stanley has been another extremely consistent cut maker this season making 10/12 cuts with three T10’s. He finished fourth at The Players and sixth at the Memorial last week where ball striking and shot making was required. The same is true of TPC Southwind where players must rely on the strength of their ball striking to score well. Stanley ranks near the top of the field in SG: Off the Tee, SG: Approach, Par 4 Scoring, and Birdie or Better %. He’s also got the same Vegas odds to win as defending champion, Daniel Berger, nearly $900 more expensive on DraftKings.

Graeme McDowell $7,500 - GMac has missed one cut all year and plays Harbour Town in Hilton Head like he built it. We see Harbour Town as a related course to TPC Southwind. He’s another steady, accurate type that can get hot with the putter and score. He ranks near the top in this field in SG: Putting, Par 4 Scoring, and Birdie or Better %. We love the value the $7,500 price tag brings in this weak field.

Peter Uihlein $7,200 - Uihlein is a total stud! He’s a bomber that excels in SG: Off the Tee and scores birdies and eagles in bunches. Surprisingly, he’s also rated out quite well recently in Strokes Gained: Putting and if he keeps that up...watch out! This guy could run away with the St. Jude Classic if he continues to play he has as of late. He made 19 birdies and one eagle last week at The Memorial while finishing T25 and we love him this week. If he makes the cut, he’ll reward with loads of DraftKings points.

Best bargain basement option:

Boo Weekley $6,500 - Boo hasn’t missed a cut the last five years at TPC Southwind with one T10. He’s always been a superb ball-striker, ranking 6th in driving accuracy on tour, and it’s been his putter holding him back from making more cuts. He obviously likes the course this week, and he ranks high in SG: Off the Tee and SG: Approach. We don’t trust him in cash games, but aren’t afraid to have some shares in tournament play.

Player to avoid:

Adam Scott $11,000 - We’ve got to take a stand with a player in the top tier, and Scott is who we’re fading. He’s fired just one round in the 60’s since April, and the price is too high to risk for a guy who can’t seem to find a top-10. Scott has averaged 58% of his fairways this year, ranking back at 126th which will not suit this golf course. We’d much rather roll with the safer Molinari or pay up for Fowler. Scott’s a big name in a weak field, but his form just isn’t there.
