Front 9 and Back greens were different grass (in between redesign process), otherwise 5 for green speed. Cost is super-high $425 in Jan and course in middle of reconstruction. But its a legendary Mackenzie course and definitely worth a one-time experience, definite must do!!
Definitely recommend walking rather than riding. The front nine is newly renovated and pristine. The back nine leaves something to be desired, and the greens had a sudden change of pace. However, the overall course design stands the test of time by this time next year all 18 holes should be in tiptop shape.
Alister MacKenzie’s favorite course of all the ones he designed, for good reason. Really fun, but incredibly challenging. Mistakes can be brutal, but good shots are very rewarding.
I played during a drought and the course wasn’t in as good of a condition as I expected, so I felt a little ripped off because it’s pretty damn pricy. I’ve heard it’s usually in way better shape. Still recommend this course, especially for golfers who love course architecture and golf history.
