Played the Watson course 12/28/22, the course was the toughest course I’ve ever played. Had a great time, was paired with a father/son from Minnesota. I had a great end to my 3 days of golf.

Played the Nicklaus Course on Friday toward the end of my trip, and had another fun round. Course was in great shape aside from bunkers, and the staff was excellent. Played in the morning so it was fairly crowded. I was paired with a resident and his guest, and we all had a good time. There was a beverage cart unlike earlier in the week on the Watson. It really just seemed like the resort cares a lot more about this course than the others, which is a shame given that it’s the consensus worst course of the 3. But worst is relative, it’s still a Nicklaus signature and a really good course. Nice wide relatively flat fairways are great for all players. But the greens are tiny and there’s a lot of water, including a few forced carries, are challenges for this golf course, making some of the holes seem unfair. As with the Watson if you’re at Reunion it’s worth the play, especially in the summer with lower rates. But if I had to choose, I’d go with the Watson. Still, I had a great time!

I had a great time playing the Watson Course at Reunion Resort! Definitely a great layout, not like anything I’ve played before. There is no water, but some of the waste areas act as drainage runoffs during the summer. Fairly large undulating fairways and tons of bunkers make for an experience not common in the US. The greens are fast with the grain, but slow against. We played on a summer afternoon where rates are the best all year, only $70 including cart and range, which is great value for the layout. I’d describe the conditions as only average, but it is the off season in Florida. Staff was great, but no beverage cart. It’s probably better in the winter. Anyone can have fun on this course because there aren’t many hazards, but an experienced golfer will find a challenge getting birdies or even pars on many holes. I wouldn’t come to reunion solely for the golf, but it’s great along with everything else the resort has to offer. The Watson is a must play if you’re here!
