Beautiful course, but still a Muni at the end of the day, hence the 4-star review. Greens were firm and in excellent shape. The bad included rough that was freshly mown but with heaps of cut grass everywhere and still 2-3 inches deep (maybe from Farmer’s open 4 weeks prior?). Our group lost at least 8 balls because we simply could not find it in the rough even though we watched it land. The round also took 5h20m, which considering the amazing view, wasn’t the worst thing.
Fantastic course to play on and so worth it if you get the time!
First time at the North Course late February 2025. Course was in great shape, one week removed from the Genesis which was played on the South Course. Birdie on #14 was the highlight of my round 🐦
Pace of play is slow, but no reason to rush while taking in so many beautiful views. The rough is brutal, it feels like a miracle to find your ball sometimes. The cost for non-locals is pricey, but it’s truly a bucket list course so if you can justify it, I think you’ll be happy with the experience!
Beautiful course, can’t justify how ridiculously overpriced it is though for a public course. From the tee time, to push cart, to reservation fees, all while not even having ball washers at the holes. Big money grab here. The thick rough is very unforgiving and hard to get out of. Course was in great condition with some amazing views especially on the back 9. The constant loud flying of military aircraft above from fighter jets, to helicopters to osprey, pretty distracting and very loud.
Beautiful scenery and course conditions, but for the most part this course is a cash grab. Everything is super overpriced, including the green feeds, carts and the gift shop. Also, in January, they grow the rough so long it’s difficult to find your ball and hard to hit out of. Overly penalized for missing fairways. The greens are also fairly fast and very undulating. Hardly a straight putt out there.
