Founder & CEO

Eddy Lui, Founder and CEO of 18Birdies, is a self-described gadget geek who given the chance, would spend a couple years in the wilderness just to be amazed by all the new technology upon his return. Eddy began his career at the global consulting firm Bain & Company and then at Fairlook Capital. After 20 years of successfully building and growing technology startups, he combined his business experience with his passion for golf and founded 18Birdies. Today, Eddy is the visionary and driving force behind 18Birdies, the mobile golf platform that enhances the experience between golfers and the courses they love to play through technology, social and gaming.

Eddy received a Master’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Brown University.

Susan Song, Chief Marketing Officer at 18Birdies, is an avid golfer and recently had a daughter that she is excited to teach the game of golf to. She brings over 15 years of experience driving global brand-building and marketing effectiveness for Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining 18Birdies, she was VP of Global Brand Marketing and Communications at Getty Images and held senior branding and advertising roles at Citigroup. Today, Susan is the driving force behind the 18Birdies brand strategy, marketing and communications.

Susan received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations and Hispanic Studies from Brown University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Jen Vescio, Advisor to the CEO at 18Birdies, can be found spending her free time hiking, mountain climbing, skiing in Lake Tahoe and following her favorite football team, the Steelers. Jen brings over 20 years of experience launching new businesses and driving strategy and revenue growth at both early stage and Fortune 500 companies. Jen currently sits on the board of the PGA Tour, where she leads securing and structuring corporate sponsorships for the Web.com Tour. Prior to joining 18Birdies, she was Head of Global Business Development at eBay, where she led revenue, audience acquisition and strategic partnerships. Today, Jen is the driving force behind the overall business strategy, securing investments and growing the business development team for 18Birdies.

Jen received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Allegheny College and an MBA from The Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

She brings a wealth of experience, having built HR departments at several successful early stage startups in the Bay Area with both domestic and international growth. Prior to joining 18Birdies, Jessica worked at Digital Fountain, Posit Science, Xmobb, and many other disruptive start-up organizations. Today, Jessica is the driving force behind the 18Birdies company culture.

Kris Tschetter

Partner Relations Manager

Kris Tschetter is the Director of Community Relations at 18Birdies and the official in-house golf pro. Over the course of her 20-year professional playing career with the LPGA, Kris has earned nearly $3 million in prize money and her career highlights include winning the JC Penney Mixed Team Classic in 1992 and finishing second at the 1996 U.S. Open. One of Kris’ best memories from her pro career was not only winning the JC Penney Mixed Team Classic, but also going 71 holes without a bogey. As a former LPGA professional, she will be using her deep knowledge and experience to connect 18Birdies with people, courses and organizations throughout the golf industry.

Kris received a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio, TV and Film from Texas Christian University. She is also an accomplished author, having published “Mr. Hogan, The Man I Knew”, which describes her tutelage under the golf legend.

Sinking a five-foot putt to qualify for the playoff in the JC Penney Mixed Team Classic, which she and childhood friend Billy Andrade won. Dad was caddying. Mom was in the gallery. The crowd went wild.

Kris was once as serious about ballet as she is about golf. In recent years, she has danced in productions of The Nutcracker with one of her daughters.

“Golf is full of good and bad breaks. I try to take what comes and make the best of the situation, and always keep in mind that things could be so much worse. And I strive to keep smiling no matter what kind of round—or day—I’m having.”

Darrell Kestner

Advisor to the Board

Darrell Kestner, Advisor to the Board at 18Birdies, is a household name in the golf industry and is considered one of America’s Best Golf Instructors according to Golf Digest and Golf Magazine. Among his most notable pupils is Nick Watney, who credits Darrell for improving his putting game that led to a Barclays Championship win in 2012. Considered a coach to the stars, Darrell has also coached Michael Bloomberg, Jimmy Fallon and Hugh Grant. Darrell has enjoyed a long successful career on the PGA Tour, having played in eight U.S. Opens and 13 PGA Championships, and is credited with scoring the first double eagle in PGA Championship history (the 1993 PGA Championships at the Inverness Golf Club). Today, Darrell is assisting on the advisory board and is providing guidance from a PGA perspective.

A legend on the Long Island golf scene, Darrell is currently the Director of Golf at Deepdale Golf Club in Manhasset, NY.

Charlie Tiersch, Head of Strategic Partnerships at 18Birdies, can be found spending his free time either golfing or traveling to far-off places like Galapagos, Tanzania, and Alaska to experience and photograph the grandeur of untouched nature. Charlie brings over 18 years’ experience driving growth and business development strategies for businesses ranging from start-up through Fortune 500. Prior to joining 18Birdies, he worked at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia as the Vice President of Video and Business Development where he led business development, digital strategy, and video.  Charlie has also worked at NBC News as VP of Strategic Initiatives where he was responsible for developing and executing growth strategy, as well as Showtime Networks where he developed, launched, and ran Showtime’s international channels. Today, Charlie is the driving force behind identifying and executing 18Birdies’ strategic partnership efforts.

Charlie received an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Boston University.

Playing Stadium course at TPC Sawgrass.  I was in the last group of the day and we arrived at the iconic 17th hole at dusk.  The colors at twilight were incredible and the sounds of the birds echoed in the trees.  I recall thinking, “remember this moment” because it was perfect.
