Fantasy Golf on DraftKings - The Tour Championship
Lock of the week:
Embed from Getty ImagesJustin Rose – $8,900 – Rosie has gained 27 strokes on the field in the last 5 years at Eastlake. That’s the highest in this field and second place is 17 strokes (DJ). That’s really good people. Rose likes Eastlake. He’s playing well. His price tag on DraftKings and FanDuel is very good. Rose is a staple in any GPP or cash contest regardless of high ownership.
Value Plays:
Matt Kuchar $7,700 – Kuchar was sporty in Chicago this past week with four rounds in the 60s for a T5 finish. He’s the perfect course fit for Eastlake being accurate off the tee and scoring with his irons. He’s got a good history here and he’s a surprisingly good scorer. His value of $7,700 is ridiculous on DraftKings. His Vegas odds to win should have him priced in the low $8K range. Kuch is also a Georgia Tech grad and is quite familiar with Eastlake and the Atlanta area is home for Kuch.Kevin Chappell $7,600 – Chappell is one of our favorites this week. He’s a total ball striker, can score with the best of them when he gets hot, and he’s been tweeting about how motivated he is this week. Chappie is capable of winning this tournament despite the best players in the world being present. He finished 2nd here last year and winning this year would be a tremendous finish to a breakout season for Chappie. We think he’ll fly a touch under the radar in GPPs as many will flock to Kuchar and Cantlay in that range.
Charley Hoffman $7,300 – Hoffman is similar to Chappell in skill set and likely ownership edge this week at Eastlake. After a T27 last week at 17% ownership, we see Hoffman still being a guy to have in GPPs as well as cash lineups. “Snacks” has been in top 10 in this field in Strokes Gained Approach the last few months. Charley’s known for his birdie runs too when he starts feeling it. The Chappell / Charley combo is one we’ll have a fair share of this week.
Best bargain basement option:
Embed from Getty ImagesPat Perez $6,400 – Perez is playing some of the best golf of his life right now coming off a T12 at the BMW. His Vegas odds to win should have him priced up with Berger and Schauffele which makes him a slight value in a short field. PP is a guy that can keep it out of this gnarly Bermuda rough at Eastlake while keeping his foot on the pedal to keep scoring birdies. We feel fine rolling with Pat in any format this week.
Player to avoid:
Patrick Reed $7,500 – Guess who’s lost 20 strokes on the field the last 3 years at Eastlake…? Reed! Crazy, but Reed clearly doesn’t feel comfortable at this course. He failed to shoot a round in the 60s last week at the BMW, and he doesn’t check the stat boxes whatsoever. We will have zero shares of Reed across the board. We see many nestled, bermuda rough lies in his future off the tee.The 18Birdies app is now available for iPhone and Android devices. Click here for your free download.
