Fantasy Golf Picks for DraftKings - PGA Tour The Honda Classic
Lock of the week:Russell Knox $9,000 - Russell is going to be a very popular play this week and we’re all in as well. Knox should be a staple in all your cash lineups as he pretty much fits the bill on every stat category including Ball Striking, Driving Accuracy (including Euro Tour Stats), GIR, and Scrambling. He missed the cut at the Waste Management last time out, but that was a bomb and gouge track. This course fits him perfectly as he’s played it three times with two Top 10’s. Also, with the way DK pricing has normalized somewhat this week, we could easily see starting most your lineups with Knox as a core player. Tack on a guy that typically plays well in windy conditions (which we expect), and Knox cannot be avoided this week. Play him with confidence. He’ll “knox” your socks off.
Value PlaysKevin Kisner $7,700 - It goes without saying that Kiz is a friend of the Tour Junkies Podcast. The dude is hot again and this is a tournament he can win. You want some boxes checked, how about our favorites this week including SG: Approach, Scrambling, and Driving Accuracy. DraftKings missed the boat on his pricing this week also at $7700. Lock and load.
Luke Donald $7,600 - With two Top 25’s in his last two starts, and a course history at PGA National that will make you slap your mama’s mama. He’s made nine of nine cuts here with five Top 10’s! Donald loves this track! Luke is easily one of the most accurate ball strikers on the PGA Tour. Consider him a must play in cash or GPP contests on DraftKings.
Scott Brown $7,400 - This is a flier play in GPP’s. We know Scott personally. He’s told us he’s feeling a little fatigued after playing 6 events in a row, but his form is fantastic right now. He hasn’t missed a cut all season and finished 2nd to DJ last week at The Genesis Open. Brown enjoys tracks like PGA National where you have to be accurate and hit your spots. We know the course fits, we know he’s in great form, and we know he likes the course. By the way, at Riviera last week, he was 23rd in the field in SG: Approach, 12th in Driving Accuracy, and 6th in P4: 450 - 500yds. These are all key stats to succeed this week. Brown should be owned below 8% this week in DraftKings GPPs.
Best bargain basement option
Wesley Bryan $6,600 - He’ll be a popular play in the $6K range coming off a T4 at Riviera. But, he’s your best bet to get through the cut. Here’s another player a lot like Scott Brown that typically doesn’t play long courses, like Riviera, very well. However, last week he was 8th in SG: Approach and 17th in Driving Accuracy. That bodes well for him coming into this week at PGA National. He’s a serious contender this year as the Web.com Player of the Year. He also grew up putting on Bermuda greens like the ones at PGA National.***Honorable Mentions under $6K: Kizzire, Peterson, CT Pan***
Player to avoid
Danny Willett $7,800 - Here’s a big name, major champion winner, at a bargain price that we’re happy to fade. Danny’s been horribly inconsistent since his big victory last April. He is coming off a Top 5 his last time out which may put some on to him, but we see this as an easy opportunity to pass as he hits the States for the first time this year in a stronger field than his European Tour events. On the Euro Tour this year, he ranks 107th in Driving Accuracy, 48th in Scrambling, and 47th in GIR. Nothing to write home about in key stat categories for us this week.
