PGA Tour Fantasy Golf DraftKings Picks - The Puerto Rico Open
Lock of the week: Luke List $9,900 - Luke is in solid form coming off his T17 at the API. He’s played this event twice without a missed cut, including a T15 last year. We’ve heard from sources on site that the rough is basically non existent. Bombs away with a guy like Luke. He checks the stat boxes in SG: Off the Tee, SG: Approach, and Birdie or Better %. We love starting a lot of lineups with Luke allowing you to avoid the bottom of the barrel with this weak field. Luke has just as much upside as the 4 players above him. Lock him in.Value Plays
Peter Uihlein $10,100 - If you’re not familiar with Uihlein, you’re not alone. He’s a super talented young talent that many on the PGA Tour have known about for years. However, Peter chose to take his talents to the EuropeanTour first, similar to his close buddy, Brooks Koepka. Peter is in fantastic form right now with three T25’s in his last four events. He’s a bomber that scores with his length. Uihlein is the only player above List we’re considering rostering in GPP’s on DraftKings.
Robert Garrigus $7,500 - Garrigus checks the stat boxes in Birdie or Better % and SG: Off the Tee. We’re really surprised to see his price at $7,500. Seems to be a bit of a steal for a player who can score like Garrigus and potentially finish in the top 10. With the top 64 on Tour competing in Austin this week, this door is open for Garrius to make a run at very reasonable price tag.
JT Poston $8,600 - The Postman is the only guy on this write-up that’s not considered a “bomber.” But fear not! JT has incredible form right now with two top 20’s in his last three events. Poston has also only missed one cut all year. He’s a ball striker who keeps the ball in the short grass and makes up for length with a top ranked short game. He doesn’t check all of the stat boxes, but he’s been consistent. Roll with him when you just need a cut-maker for cash game purposes.Best bargain basement option
Trey Mullinax $6.500 - News flash...Trey can BOMB the golf ball! He was one of the biggest hitters on the Web.com Tour last year. He checks the box in Birdie or Better % and SG: Off the Tee, much like Garrigus. The Mulli-man has missed the cut in his last two events, but he could bounce back in this weak field. If he does, he’ll rack up the DraftKings points for sure, making him very interesting GPP play.
Player to avoid
Chris Kirk $9,100 - Kirk has also missed his last two cuts and hasn’t cracked the top 20 all year. He’s a fade for us simply due to poor form and poor value. Paying up for Kirk at $9,100 just doesn’t make sense considering he’s no more likely to make the cut than a lot of guys priced under him. It seems like DraftKings is simply making you pay up for name recognition rather than recent performance here.
