Fantasy Golf on DraftKings - The Players Championship

Lock of the week: Jordan Spieth $10,800 - This is a tough event for Spieth, missed the cut two out of three times playing in this event, but last year he landed on the bad side of the weather draw. The one time he made the cut, he finished 4th. This course is built for Jordan’s strengths. It’s a 2nd shot course requiring strategic shot placement and sharp short game, and that’s all Jordan Spieth! You absolutely love the price on Spieth! A lot of lineups will start with Rory just above Jordan in price, and that could lead to Spieth being 15% owned or less. Take the value and don’t look back!

Value Plays

Adam Scott $8,400 - Scott didn't miss the cut last week, but he finished a disappointing T36 while only recording 14 birdies all week after people paid $10K for him! He was the highest owned golfer in the big dollar GPPs at 40%! Scott was also 23 percent owned in the contests with lower entry fees, and get's a major price decrease this week. As a result, he is down to nearly the average price point on DraftKings. His strength has also been as a legendary ball striker that can win this event if his putter heats up a little. He doesn't have to win to return value though, and that's hard to find with a world class player like Scott. We'll be back on Scott this week as a result in cash and GPP contests across all DFS sites. Pray for his putter people!

Ryan Moore $7,000 - Ryan Moore checks the boxes on Strokes Gained-Approach and P4/P5 Scoring. Ryan has been lights out his year with seven of eight cuts made and four of the seven top 25 finishes. This guy always comes in under the radar when he shouldn't and this week is no different. The $7K price tag is absurd. His Vegas odds to win are the same as a guy like Patrick Cantlay. Cantlay is $700 more expensive on DraftKings. Moore should have no problem providing more value for you this week in your lineups.

Charl Schwartzel $7,100 - Charl’s in top form. He’s a world-class ball striker and gains strokes with his irons into greens. Schwartzel is a total steal at $7,100 on DraftKings. He could easily win The Players Championship, thus making him a GPP play. His bargain price tag also makes him a lock in cash games for us this week, as he's made 5/7 cuts this year. His Vegas odds to win should put him in the high $7K range on DraftKings if he was priced appropriately. If his putter can going, he’ll be in a final pairing come Sunday.

Best bargain basement option

Marc Leishman $6,800 - DraftKings has priced in loads of value in the $6K range this week. There are a lot of guys you can go with in this category. This is also a key range to differentiate your lineups in GPPs by taking guys that may be a little lower owned. Leishman is sandwiched between last week’s winner (Harman) and one of the hottest players all year (Hadwin). He has made five of five cuts here in the last five years with three top 25s, while only missing one cut out of nine events all year. Leishman is a consistent ball striker and gains strokes with his approach game. We like him in GPP’s and don’t even mind him in cash this week either.

Player to avoid

Dustin Johnson $12,000 - Hey guys, who wants to differentiate themselves by fading the hottest golfer in the planet? Sure we'll do it! Let's seriously take a look at this though. DJ doesn't exactly have good course history as he’s only broken 70 twice in his last couple years here. This fade is also somewhat based on value as you can get Rory at $800 less. You can also expect the ownership to climb after his T2 finish on Sunday at Wells Fargo. Believe us now and thank us later, DJ will disappoint for the first time this year.
