Oso Beach Municipal Golf Course
Conveniently located just south of downtown Corpus Christi, Oso Beach Golf Course was designed in 1949 by John Bredemus, who was the co-founder of the Texas PGA and the Texas Open. Oso Beach was highly touted and became the venue for the “World Championship Four-Ball Match” featuring the golf dream team of Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, and Jimmy Demaret.
The course features a 6,223 yard, Par 70 layout. The tree-lined layout has water hazards coming into play on the back nine and bunkers in play throughout the entire course. While considered a very "player friendly" course, the 13th Hole is known as the signature hole, being a strong test for a Par 3 of 180 yards from the back tees, requiring a tee shot over water directly into the prevailing wind.
