Pretty tough course. However, one group will ruin pace of play. Most people won’t let faster groups play through

Just can’t be beat for a good ol’ country course. Great value, solid conditions, I play it often and always love it. Not the most difficult course, but a lot of its difficulty lies in it length, it and I has its challenges, 3 especially. Course has strategically placed hazards and obstacles which reward good shot shapers.

The people who run this place need to relax. I called and booked a tee time for three and briefly mentioned I’d have my 4 year old daughter with me. I didn’t think twice after doing so as I often take her with me and every other course in the area is more than happy to accommodate. Most pro shop staff are happy to see a young girl who is excited to get into golf, as that helps continue to grow the game.
When me, the two I was golfing with, and my daughter showed up, the people in the pro shop informed us we were paired with a 4th. No problem at all, I get that you need to get all spots filled. We simply let them know that the person who was paired with us would need their own cart since my 4 year old daughter was riding with me. Honestly, the manager (or owner? Gray-haired older man) made a scene. Finally when my group said we would just leave, they let us go out, but continued to badger us about it. The guy said “we better not see her hitting any balls out there.” Dude, she’s 4 year

Thornapple has taken a step back since 2022. Maybe they are facing staffing issues that are slowing them down. It’s a coin flip if you’re cart will make it through 18 holes or not. Still a decent track for your money.
