Played Applewood Golf Course in Augusta, GA today, and the greens were absolutely horrific.
I understand it’s early in the season, but these were some of the worst putting surfaces I’ve seen in a long time. The greens were patchy, bumpy, covered in sand, and full of dead spots. In several places, it didn’t even feel like putting on a green — it felt like putting on a fairway or bare dirt. Balls were bouncing, skidding, and changing direction constantly, making it impossible to get a true roll.
