Whistling Straits Was Built for Big Moments
What makes Whistling Straits remarkable is how quickly it became iconic. Pete Dye carved it out in 1998, and within a decade it was hosting majors and earning its place among the great championship venues in the country.
Part of that comes down to how it plays. There is no shortage of trouble, from the deep pot bunkers to the holes that hug the cliff line, and the wind has the final say on just about every club you pull. It rewards creativity, punishes the timid, and gives you a real sense of what the pros face when championships are on the line.
