The Golf Courses of Lawsonia, The Links Course (Green Lake, Wisconsin)

As the name suggests, The Links Course at The Golf Courses of Lawsonia is an open, links-style layout that provides a complete test of your all-around game. Routed over gently rolling terrain with multi-tiered, elevated birthday cake greens, it features deep rough and large, snaking sand traps alongside the fairways.

Lawsonia Links course

Steep faced bunkers protect the geometric shapes and angular slopes of Lawsonia's massive greens - somewhat reminiscent of Royal Portrush in the Irish tradition. With large grassy dunes and an almost perfect layout, this par-72, 6,853-yard William Langford and Theodore Moreau design require you have creativity, skill, and serious focus.

The Links Course at Lawsonia is a great round of golf that will make you think you’re across the pond, and one that you’ll recall long after you return home. You can book your Links Course tee time here in the 18Birdies app.

The Virtues Golf Club (Nashport, Ohio)

When each hole on a golf course can qualify as its signature hole, you know you’re in for an amazing experience – and that’s exactly what you’ll get playing The Virtues Golf Club. Virtues wanders through woodland, wetland, and open countryside surroundings, with a variety of holes and undulating terrain that makes it a championship-caliber layout testing every shot in your bag.

The Virtues Golf Club

Some holes on this par-72, 7,243-yard Arthur Hills design can aptly be described as a parkland layout with undulating terrains winding through hilltops and valleys. Other holes feel and play more like a links course with sweeping fescue defending fairways that accommodate both the ground and aerial game. Throw in some strategic bunkering, well-placed water hazards, and heavily contoured greens, and you have a dynamic design that’s at fun to play as it is challenging.

Formerly known as Longaberger Golf Club, The Virtues is an unforgettable golfing destination with picturesque views and a variety of strategic play options. It’s a worthy consideration for your next golfing vacation, and a must play if you’re just a one-tank trip away. You can book your Virtues tee time in the 18Birdies app right here.

Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, Gold Course (Williamsburg, Virginia)

The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club Gold Course may not date all the way back to colonial Williamsburg, but you’ll still feel an overriding sense of golf history playing here. This par-71, 6,817-yard Robert Trent Jones layout is considered his finest design ever and is often compared favorably to Augusta National.

Golden Horseshoe Golf Club Gold Course

Revered for its strategic blend of heroic and penal shot values, Gold’s classic routing wanders through vast, wooded valleys, and a handful of holes tangle with a five-acre lake and numerous ravines. A quartet of par-3s - all featuring elevated tees and forced carries over water - is unrivaled anywhere in the country, and catapults Gold into “best of the beast” realms.

Improving on his father’s original 1963 design, architect Rees Jones has incorporated modern turfgrasses throughout the rolling layout to bolster enjoyment and playability. If you’re looking for a superior test of golf that emphasizes strategy and shotmaking in a classic architectural setting, you can book your tee times for Gold Course here in the 18Birdies app.
