Your next round could take you to Cabot Citrus Farms.
We’re halfway there.
To celebrate 10 million golfers, we’re sending one golfer and a guest to a different dream course every week for 10 weeks, and Week 5 of 10 Million Golfers. 10 Dream Courses. 10 Weeks. marks the midpoint of the celebration.
For this one, we’re trading championship pressure for pure fun. This week’s course sits on 1,200 acres of rolling Florida sandbelt an hour north of Tampa, on land shaped by a prehistoric ridge and dotted with century-old moss-covered oaks. There are no houses lining the fairways and almost no way to lose a golf ball. Just wide-open sand, wild green complexes, and more ways to play every hole than you can figure out in one round.
This week, one 18Birdies golfer and a guest will get the chance to play the Karoo course at Cabot Citrus Farms.
🏆 One Lucky 18Birdies User Will Win:
Karoo Was Built for Fun
The Karoo takes its name from the call of the sandhill cranes that roam the property, and the course is every bit as untamed as its namesake. Designer Kyle Franz, who sharpened his craft restoring Pinehurst-area legends like Mid Pines and Pine Needles, calls his style here “adventure golf.” One walk to the first tee and you’ll see why.
Eleven holes feature double fairways, split by sprawling white-sand waste areas that force a choice on every tee: safe route or shortcut. The 1st and 6th share a massive double green that rivals the size of those at St Andrews. And for anyone whose driver has a mind of its own, the 18th offers something almost no course in America does: a triple fairway. Left, right, or long, there’s a path for every ball flight, and slicers can finally swing without fear.
The greens are the boldest part of the whole property, huge rolling surfaces with slopes that feed your ball toward the pin if you play the right angle, or send it somewhere memorable if you don’t. Every shot is a puzzle, and solving it is the fun. Even the little traditions are dialed: grab your famous Cabot Cookie before the round, and if 18 holes isn’t enough, The Wedge par-3 course is lit up for golf under the lights.
Now it is the Week 5 dream course in our summer-long celebration of reaching 10 million golfers.
